Retail food prices declined for the first time in 48 years during 2016, fed by a record 21-months of wholesale food price deflation. Thus, supermarket sales are showing only minimal increases from a year earlier to an estimated $547 billion last year, reported The Food Institute.
Find out if it appears this trend will continue this year and what will contribute to it. Brian Todd, President & CEO of the Food Institute will look at price projections for various supermarket departments, including meats, dairy, and produce and receive a summary of those points you can share with your members afterward.
The Food Institute has been following trends in food process since its founding back in 1928 via its weekly Food Institute Report and daily e-mail Today In Food from its headquarters in Upper Saddle River, NJ.
